Here is what I expected: a clean, even, full-body heat that made it easy to build a routine.

Here is what I got: a sauna that technically worked, but never became something I wanted to use.

Problem 1: Cold spots that made sessions feel… annoying

The heat was not balanced. Some areas got hot, others stayed lukewarm. I found myself shifting around trying to “find” the heat.

You stop using it.

Problem 2: “Full spectrum” did not feel like full spectrum

This is where I learned a hard truth about sauna marketing:

A lot of brands use the same words, but they do not mean the same thing.

Some brands will label a sauna “full spectrum” while the experience feels mostly like far infrared, or like a watered-down version of what you thought you were buying.

I kept telling myself, “Maybe this is just how infrared saunas are.”

It is not, as I later discovered.

Problem 3: The temperature ceiling was underwhelming

I am not someone trying to turn my house into a commercial spa.

But I also did not spend real money to sit in a warm wooden room that felt capped.

When you have a sauna that takes a long time to get where you want it, you start skipping sessions because it does not fit your life.

Problem 4: The upsell trap

This one still annoys me.

I realized the features I actually wanted were not really included. They were “available.”

Red light? Extra.

Better panels? Extra.

Smart controls? Not really.

So now I had an expensive sauna that felt incomplete, and the brand’s solution was basically: pay more.

That is when the regret became real.

Because at that point, I was not comparing saunas anymore, I was comparing business philosophies.
